In Creative Media and IT students have the opportunity to develop their computer science, digital literacy and information technology skills in a theoretical and practical way. KS3 students study two double periods of Creative Media and IT per fortnight.

Is to teach a dynamic skills-based curriculum that equips our students with the skills to use IT in the real world. We challenge students to develop computational thinking and expand on their creativity through different units.

Key Stage 3 Creative Media & IT

Pupils will arrive at KS3 with differing knowledge and experiences of computing, so the department have taken time to carefully plan a curriculum that can stretch more able students while supports those that need the additional support.

Key Stage 4 Options

At Key stage 4 students have the option of two different subjects involving digital technology, and IT.

Key Stage 4 Creative Media

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Creative Media Production is ideal for you if you are a pre-16 student working at level 1 or level 2 and would like to develop creative skills and learn more about the creative media sector. This course offers a practical introduction to life and work in the media sector. The qualification, which is 120 GLH, is the same size and level as a GCSE.

This qualification will offer you the opportunity to build the range of knowledge, understanding and practical skills you need to progress to further learning, and will also give you an engaging and stimulating introduction to the world of creative media. You will explore some of the key areas within the creative sector, learning how to address the needs of clients and create media work that meets creative project briefs.

BTEC Creative Media Production Overview

Enrichment and Extracurricular Activities

Creative Media production provides students with  exciting and enriching learning outside of the classroom. Past trips include: Stanley Kubrick Film exhibition via the Design Museum, Gaming Exhibition via The V&A Museum, KS4 career trips to Google Headquarters, KS4 trip post 16 trip  to Ravensbourne university, BFI & Into film related trips and many more.
