In partnership with the #BeMe Digital Inclusion project which aims to raise one million female aspirations in Science Technology Engineering Maths(STEM) related careers; a group of our Year 10 Creative Media & Computer science girls were invited to Tech Giant company CIENA to take part in a day of fantastic careers workshops lead by 4 employees of the company.

The day began with an excellent tour of the Ciena  building which is situated in the heart of Shoreditch’s buzzing creative hub. 

Students took part in a series of workshops lead by employees that worked in different sectors of the company. These workshops ranged from interactive activities & quizzes, to tasks that challenged students to use their computational thinking to creatively solve problems related to everyday digital issues in our world. 

Our students had the opportunity to ask as many questions regarding career paths and left the trip feeling inspired and more open to thinking about the many diverse Careers in the Tech industry that they were not already aware of.
