Dear Parents/Carers,
Year 9
The Year 9 mid-year assessments will take place in January. The assessment window begins on the 13th and will end in early February (taking into account subjects which are taught once over the 2 week timetable).
Assessments for the four core subjects; English, Maths, Science and RE and the EBacc subjects; History, Geography and MFL will be completed as a year group in the main hall on the first week of assessments, as we start early preparation for Key Stage 4 examinations. All other assessments will take place in their subject classrooms over the assessment period.
Year 10
The Year 10 midyear assessments will take place throughout the month of January. The assessment window begins on the 13th and will end on the 30th January 2024
Many of the assessments will be completed as a year group in the main hall, as we start preparation for GCSE examinations. All other assessments will take place in their subject classrooms. This is clearly indicated on the timetable.
To support students with planning and revision, a link to an assessment timetable has been included with this letter, and has been uploaded to students google classrooms, the student information centre and the school website.
