In Maths lessons, a lot of students tend to ask the question: "Where would we use this in real life?"

The Maths department has introduced a new lesson to some of the Year 8s this year to help them understand where we can use Maths in real life and actually apply it themselves! This week, some of the Year 8s took part in a cross-curricular lesson with Maths and PE.

In their previous Maths lesson, the students learned about speed, distance, and time and discussed how they are used in the real world and in careers. They were able to recall how to calculate speed, distance, and time. They then timed the distances they ran and were able to calculate their speed.

The students and I would like to say a big thank you to Mr McManus, Mr Starr, and Mr Burnley for helping them with this lesson.
